Richard Sneider, Ph.D. - Director

Richard is the Managing Director of the InterUnity Group, a technology intelligence consulting firm based in Concord, Massachusetts. He has 25 years of experience improving business performance by increasing the effectiveness of information technology investments. He frequently speaks and writes about emerging technologies and trends.

He recently co-authored the research reports Optimizing Business Performance: Using IT For Competitive Advantage with CIO Magazine, and Emerging Trends in Off-shore and On-shore Outsourcing with Computerworld.

A former professor of information systems at the School of Management at Boston University, Richard earned his Ph.D. at Purdue University. He is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce -Technology Policy Roundtable and a founding co-chair of the Tech 20 Group, a group of Boston area technology leaders.

• Led effort to save a $50B distribution company 25% of its infrastructure cost.
• Led effort to improve IT effectiveness at a leading and highly profitable Electronic manufacturer.
• Led turnaround of IT department including stabilization of mainframe and network systems, professionalization of staff, upgrade of hardware and recruitment of replacement.
• Led multi-unit strategy development and procurement effort resulting in $40million in savings by the transition from a centralized to decentralized IT delivery system.
• Developed and implemented IT strategy which reduced enterprise replacement of systems 50% faster that plan.
• Led strategy and procurement effort for the consolidation of three corporations with over 200 business units. Reduced operating expenses by 25%.
